Default Old Iran Air Liveries Questions from Shah era

I have a photo in a book of an Iran Air Viscount in a red color scheme with just a flag on the tail and large "IRANAIR" titles. This plane crashed in 1962, says the caption, so the scheme dates from the 50s.

Now, this line's DC-3s and DC-6s - many of which were purchased in the mid-60s - seemed to use, at least for a time, the color scheme with, I think, blue (the photo is black and white) cheat lines and the "Homa" bird on the tail (I believe that this has its roots in an ancient mythical bird called a Simorq or Simurgh). The titles read "Iran National Air Lines."

The DC-7C operated by the Persian Air Services line that was merged with the national airline wore a medium-blue SABENA cheat line, and it differed from the earlier and simpler livery worn by the much earlier Avro York.

When did the line adopt the "Homa" symbol? When did the red scheme stop and the blue one (like that one used on the jets) begin? Did the Viscounts ever use the blue scheme with the Homa logo?

Anthony, I lived in Iran from 1966-70 and flew Iran Air's DC6's DC3 (charters to Doha) and their 727's. All of the planes at that time were painted white with the blue cheatline (Sabena-blue from the 60's is about right) and had the tails painted blue with a white "swish" from the #2 intake up towards the top-rear near where the stabilizer joins. Inside the white field was the Iranian flag and the mythical Homa bird. Tried to email you a copy of an old black & white postcard, but failed. Didn't know about the red scheme from the 50's. Never saw it at any of the airports during those years.
