Default Inaugural Hawaiian Flight at SMF.

Hawaiian 19 departed SMF today at 11:00 local with a water cannon salute and all the media fanfare.
I hope it is successful and that they give us a local deal soon.
I also got leid by one of the F/As with a real pretty, real flowers lei.

Yes, I believe it starts in mid July.
It is going to be 4 days a week, SMF-GDL-MEX, operated with an A-320.

We just had Hawaiian start service last Friday between Ontario and Honolulu using a DC10.

I cut out the article regarding the inaugurial flight from our local newspaper, the Inland Valley Daily News.

I'm glad Hawaiian is finally reaching out more to the Mainland, rumor has it that they're looking at possibly the Midwest/East Coast corridor. We'll just have to wait and see.

UA currently flies DEN-HNL in the 777. I believe the 777 will also commence service from ORD to HNL; this was suspended with the demise of the DC-10 fleet.
