Reuters Company News Virgin Blue to code share with United SYDNEY, June 5 (Reuters) - Australian discount airline Virgin Blue is to unveil a code share deal with UAL Corp's (NYSE:UAL - News) United Airlines, The Australian newspaper reported on Tuesday. The daily newspaper said the deal would give United the domestic link it lost with the collapse of Ansett Australia -- the former domestic member of the Star Alliance airline bloc -- and would provide Virgin with international passenger flow. Australia's dominant airline Qantas Airways Ltd (Australia:QAN.AX - News) is a member of the other major airline group, OneWorld. United flies daily to Sydney and Melbourne, Australia's two main gateways. Flamboyant British entrepreneur Richard Branson owns 50 percent of Virgin Blue, while Australian logistics group Patrick Corp Ltd (Australia:PRK.AX - News) owns the rest after a A$260 million deal in March which cemented Virgin Blue as Australia's second major airline.
