Default American 727's at LAX

About 4 weeks I was at LAX and behind the TWA hanger there were about 9 AA 727 parked there. CAn anyone tell me why they were parked there.

They were probably getting stripped of seats and other valuable items that can be used in their fleet before the planes head to Mojave for storage and eventual dismantling.
