Default What plane does Tony Blair fly?

Noted that PM Tony Blair is or was in these parts visiting Bush at Crawford. Now Bush normally flies the 742 and I'm assuming Colin Powell probably flies the 757 but what does Tony Blair fly in when he visits the world?

I know they had some A340's on order but are those for the Queen or the PM?

I saw a news report a while back showing PM Tony Blair getting off a BA 777. I can't say if this is true all the time tho....

I know the Royal Family uses Avro RJ's in Europe- don't know if the same holds true for Mr. Blair.

There was a show last night about AF1, that stated that the PM usually has to borrow an aircraft from the RAF. on some occasions he borrows the Queen's airplane, and on rare occasions flies commercial.

For Domestic and European flights he uses 32sqdn. RAF 146 CC2's or 125 CC3's. For long haul he uses BA or VS commercial aircraft, although the RAF VC10's are still available.

If anybody is interested in the RAF's VIP operations, one of the Queens flight 146's is to be retired, and they are looking for one of the new very high performance biz jets with transcontinental range, probably to be leased as a PPP program.

This is going off the topic of Tony Blair, but did anyone else see this week's copy of Newsweek with Clinton on the cover?? How odd would that be to see Clinton sitting in a coach aisle seat on your flight? Seems he could afford either his own business jet or at least a fractional at Netjets considering he made $12 million last year. Bonus points goes to who knows what airline he was flying on for those pictures, the clue is that the inflight reading was Attache. (i know, this is kind of an easy trivia)

Angry The Cheshire Cat

Think of all the air miles he gets as Tony "the Cheshire Cat" Blair zips off around the world. DVT (Deeply Vacuous Tony) is a disease we gave to the world!
I preferred it when the PM took RAF transports around the place (VC10's, usually).

Dave, did you notice the two guys sitting just behind Clinton in that picture? I'm no expert, but they looked like Secret Service to me!

So if Clinton is sitting in coach, does that mean US Airways Express doesn't have a first class on their planes? And just who the hell does he think he is taking the whole row to himself?

Yes US Airways has first class, and on international flights they also have Envoy class. However the shuttle is operated in a one-class configuration. The shuttle routes are BOS-DCA,BOS-LGA,LGA-DCA.
