Hmm....let me think here. Do I want peanuts and cramped seats or live TV and leather seats. That's easy: Jet Blue.

Southwest all the way! Gotta luv Herb's allegiance to Boeing and WN's great friendly service, not to mention the bitchin' low fares.

Easy!
Southwest!
Jetblue is a Southwest copy!
Even their slogan of "Somebody up there likes you" is stolen from Southwest, who used that same slogan a while back.
I am glad to see the big carriers in a war with Jetblue by matching the same routes. Let those guys fight it out and Southwest will quietly be going about their own business of flying people and making money.
Nobody has ever been able to stop Southwest even though they have tried and they never will!

Southwest of course due to the great route network schedules,
and consistently low unrestricted fares for, so many years; however, I'd certainly like to try Jet Blue with the individual seat entertainment, and roomier aircraft.

Default I've flown both

i have flown on both of them. Its a split decision. I like south west for their humor and their planes, and Jet Blue for the asigned seating and TV. Leather seats are not that big of a deal becaouse southwest has started to add them to their fleet on the new 737-700's.

Let's see....

1) Jet Blue doesn't fly to Love Field.
2) I fly free on Southwest.

I've flown on some Delta and American 757's and 767's that have less leg room/seat pitch than Southwest. Haven't flown Jet Blue but from all accounts I've heard they are a good carrier.

Regardless.... revenue or non-rev?

"Jetblue is a Southwest copy!" I wouldn't necessarily agree with this statement. While Jetblue is a low cost no frills carrier like Southwest, I would view Jetblue to be more similar to America West or AirTran. Both those respective airlines are also low cost carriers, but also both have a hub-and-spoke system. Southwest prides itself on its lack of hub operations, although looking at its route map you would think Phoenix, Las Vegas, Baltimore, etc. look like hubs. Jetblue appears to be set on establishing a firm hub out of JFK, and apparently Long Beach in the future. Southwest must have thought Neeleman's business model must have had something right when they bought out Morris Air out of fear of competition. He also founded Westjet, which is succceeding extremely well in Canada. I for one hope that in the future Jetblue gives the established carriers a run for their money.

I think I 'member reading that WN's largest operational center was at Phoenix. Can anyone confirm this? I wouldn't doubt this due to the sheer number of flights they run in and out of there.
Oakland is another hot spot, not to mention LAS, BWI, and DAL. Sure, those four cities don't have the number of flights PHX has but I think they have a pretty good number of employees based there as all of these, possibly with exception of LAS, are crew bases. Am I smokin' the whacky tobbaccy or am I simi correct on this?

Hey Cadavre,
You are correct!
PHX has the most daily flights and LAS is a close second.

I haven't flown jetBlue yet, but if I had to choose between the two I'd choose Southwest. I've yet to have a bad experience with them so until they do something to turn me away they have my business.

Actually, Southwest bought Morris Air because they needed the 737s to expand and could not get them fast enough from Boeing.

I found a way to solve this issue.
"Malice in Dallas II"
