Im probably alittle late on this, but I just read somewhere that AA retired their MD-11's. Is that true?

sadly yes. all were sold to FedEx for an undisclosed amount ( i think they got a buncha FedEx stage 3 hushkits too)

I believe the last American MD-11 flight was October 13, Santiago, Chile to Dallas/Fort Worth. For several months there were 2 MD-11s parked out at the heavy maintenance base at Fort Worth Alliance, but I haven't been out there to do some touch-and-gos in a while.

Well that really sucks!
every once and awhile I would get a chance to see them here at Tulsa international undergoing maintenance along with Hawiian DC-10's. |
