Default air canada

what do you guys think about air canada compared to other airlines is it going to make it,and can you help me figure out why they keep picking airbus over boeing, currently they only operate the 762/763,744 models from boeing and are going to replace the 747-400 with a-340-500 aircraft,I know they are also going to have to retire there 762 aircraft because of there age,but I hope they keep the 763 flying for a while and for future consideratins choose some boeing aircraft.

I think Air Canada will survive, if not on their own, then definitely with some intervention, be it from the government or what have you. Unlike the United States, we only have one main flag carrier, and that's Air Canada, and I'm pretty sure the federal government won't let it die. Right now, there isn't anybody who can step into AC's shoes...Westjet appears to be on it's way, but they are still several years from getting there.

I think it's fairly well known that there is less training involved when changing a flight crew over to another airplane from the same manufacturer. In Air Canada's case, it's Airbus. Most of their Boeing aircraft were part of Canadi>n's fleet. Looks like they're hanging onto the 732's for a while longer, especially if they're moving some of them over to Tango. It will be a very sad day when the 744's are gone.

Air Canada was started down the Airbus path by our former much hated PM Byron Muldoon, whose pockets must still be well lined by the bribery money from Airbus via a certain German influence peddlar K-H Schreiber. I don't think that we've heard all of the facts of this case.
