Following-up on the 717 lease thread, how much would take to buy a 737-200? Given the many that are parked in the Mojave and in Arizona, I would think that the price is falling.

The prices on 737-200's range from around $200,000 (1960's with high time/cycles) to a little over 2 Million for a late 1970's with low time/cycles) in Cherry Condition.
With a fuel burn rate of about .3 gal per second the least of your worries will be the price of the aircraft (unless you plan to put it on static display) |

Heck - If you buy one from Dave, he will even throw in a one year extended warranty - no charge!

T-man what the hell are you doing giving away the back-end?
You know that a 12 month extended service agreement costs more than the airframe. |

A high time/cycles 732 from the late 60s with a burn rate of 0.3 gallons per second? Holy shit - wouldn't we be better off with a newer A319? It's got fly-by-wire, you know...

Tom, You're just trying to get me started agian aren't you? I'd take an old 732 over a new Bus any day. 40+ Million will buy you a lot of Jet-A. |

Yeah, plus what could beat the roar of twin JT-8D low-bypass turbofans wakin' up the neighborhood!

The noise of 4 low bypass engines waking up the neighbourhood. By the way, I persuaded my wife to move into South West London, and our new apartment lies in between the two main approaches to Thiefrow. My head is now tilted permanently up, thus ensuring I step in all the dog**** in the local park. Damn dogloving British people.

Y'all love birds, too. Isn't there a perpetual "problem" with winged creatures in Trafalgar Square?
