Southwest has reported a 29TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR OF PROFITABILIY, with annual net income of $511.1 million.As a result,our Employees earned $214.6 million in contributions to profitsharing and savings plans.

"In light of the enormous challenges our company and nation have faced over the past four months,Southwest Airlines is extremely grateful for its fourth quarter 2001 earnings performance," Said Chief Executive Officer Jim Parker."...Our liquidity remains strong and our revenue trends improved in the fourth quarter.As a consecuence our board is pleased to be able to pay substantial Profitsharing to reward our magnificent 33,000-plus Employees for their devoted and extraordinary efforts".

We recently announced,we will begin cautiously implementing our growth plans in february with two aircraft.
