Default They were never planned

Hereīs the story why Airbus called the A380 that way:

A350 seemed not too far away from the A340 (in a technological sense - a point I donīt understand)

A360 has another meaning in aviation, as you might know (would be indeed no good name for an aircraft)

A370 wasnīt supposed to be a good name because of asian customers (the 7 is a bad number or something like that)

So it went to A380 - thatīs all.

Arrow I though the name A380 was derived from being a double decker A340!

The upper deck is the same layout as an A340 on paper.
