I've got a question-
How do companies like boeing, embraier and Airbus deliver their smaller aircraft over seas (for embraier: from Brazil to USA etc.)

A few months ago,Airways and Airliners both had articles on Hawaiian 717's.They stripped out the interiors and installed extra fuel tanks then flew them to Hawaii.I guess the same could be done with the a/c's you mentioned, within reason.
Hope this helps. Ed |

Correct me if I´m wrong but I remember that first Hapag Lloyd and then Air Berlin both got a B737 NG and transferred them from SEA to Europe nonstop. Both times it was a long distance world record for a B737 (well, maybe except for BBJs). But I don´t know how they managed it.

A couple of months ago Airways, or Airliners (can't remember which one) ran an article about delivery of a DHC-8-400 to Europe. The flight hopscotched across the Atlantic going from Canada to Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, etc.

Getting over the Atlantic is no problem as one can make several stops. But the Pacific is another story. For those hops, they install extra fuel tanks in the cabin. But it depends on what aircraft you are talking about of course.
I wonder for RJ's and turbo props if they put them on a ship or large cargo planes for certain models? |

The worst case I have ever seen was when I worked at Scenic (YR) in LAS.
They leased a DHC-6 Twin Otter to some company in Malaysia and so it went single pilot, doing the island hop across the Pacific. The cabin was loaded with fuel tanks. If you have not seen a Twin Otter, there is no bathroom and with the extra fuel tanks, there isn't even room to get up and move around. It took 18 hours.

I thought they utilized an aircraft carrier, no?
