Homer, Love your photos! A once in a lifetime experience for sure. FYI, I believe that NASA 905 leaves LAX tomorrow around noon (south side) for it's last take off ever. Hope you get to see it! Thanks for sharing the photos!
@Tim, Dude, LOVE your signature (KLM/Moon) photo

Re: Space Shuttle LAX
It's a beast, but still so elegant.. The Pan Am cheatline makes it look even more nostalgic.. A great event to honor the phenomenal US Shuttle program!!

Absolutely! Imagine if an A380 was ferrying the Shuttle ... it wouldn't be the elegant contrast between "beauty" (747) and the "beast" (Shuttle) ... this is simply a gorgeous combo indeed!
And GREAT SHOTS Homer!!

Re: Space Shuttle LAX
Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately i have to be at work tomorrow thus i will not be able to take pics of the 747 departing. Hope someone else will can take some pics.
It was something to see it in person and watch fly by and land. Sad that it has come to an end.

actually it is just a coincidence that it looks like Pan Am..this plane came from American Airlines and never flew with Pan Am...neverless it is identical to Pan Am!

I remember thinking it was a bit odd when they painted it out of basic American livery into basic Pan Am livery... I was thinking there was a Pan Am fan amongst the NASA hierarchy...lol

Will the 747 itself go to a museum or scrapped ?

Re: Space Shuttle LAX
That's a pity, surely the two together would make a much better museum piece...?

Re: Space Shuttle LAX
Hi Russ,
Hope you're well. I heard it is going to be converted like the 747SP that NASA has. It's me Ruben by the way. Coming this way soon?
