Default Time for either a sticky, or it's own section..

The "post your latest a.net/jetphotos" thread needs it's own place. The "1:1 Scale" section has been completely overrun by the non-showering, smelly, lame airliner tee shirt wearing, twelve lens dangling, thigh-chaffing, untied shoe wearing, never getting laid, embarrassment to any and all things aviation related, complete and utter DORKDOM hobby that is known as "spotting".

This section has all but died due to the fact that every time something interesting is posted about the 1:1 scale, it gets immediately lost under some smells-like-pee, Sam Chui wanna-be's latest Delta CRJ shot.

Mods: Please give these weirdo's their own creepy romper room to post in.

well i do like spotting, i'm not a crazy person who goes to the airport every day (infact i only go when i'm actualy flying somewhere) but i do like to stop and watch planes when i'm there and if theres ever an airliner in the sky above i immediatly identify it, point it out to my friends (who could care less to be honest) and can't take my eyes off it until its out of sight.

but i do agree that that thread is getting way too much attention an seems to be perminantly stuck at the top.

Well, let's point out some things on why that thread gets so much attention.

1. We are all aviation lovers here, right?
2. Some people enjoy looking at photos of planes
3. Some of the photography is really great, I've looked through there a few times and some of the lighting is amazing.
4. Out of all the members of this forum...there is going to be quite a few people looking and posting there.

Honestly...complaining about this is kinda strange...but I see the reasoning. Maybe there needs to be a Aviation Photography section for that stuff, keep the 1:1 Scale Commercial Aviation section for talk about what's going on.

i have to confess, after posting i did look through it a bit and actually i found it quite enjoying, to be honest i would go spotting every so often if i lived close to a major airport, tullamarine is about an hours commute from where i live.

Oh, don't get me wrong....I love looking at some of these great shots. Our local residents JBoulin and Kozmania are two of the best I've seen.

What I'm talking about is the reasoning and involvement of the thread in the first place. Here we have a thread on a mainly diecast forum, about posting pics of airplanes....that got approved on another website! Doesn't anybody see that as weird? I know it is in the 1:1 forum, but everytime I log on, the only damn thing I see is this thread at the top, while some other great articles/news/info on 1:1 can get buried and missed by others.

What I find even more bizzarre is some folks who ONLY post in there....not one other section of the forum. Again, coming to one website, just to say "Hey look! I got approved at this other website!" Weird indeed.

I think with over 2400 replies, it could use it's own section....that's all!

And to the few of you reading this that fall into the category of my OP (the dirty, smells like pee types), yes, you really DO exist. I've seen you guys all over the place...mostly In-N-Out LAX, or on the fence at MIA. Take a shower, wash your clothes once in a while, and gain some social skill.

The weird subculture of the "new" elitest spotter that A.Net has bred is disheartening to me.

While we're at it, might as well give the Simmers their section. The large scale collectors should have their own section too, I think the numerous 1:50 and 1:100 threads have outgrown the "Other Scales & Antiques Section".

We also need a separate thread for all the YYZ photo threads.

This place is going to be like ex-Yugoslavia pretty soon with all these breakaway threads.

I think I now get where you are going with this lol...But I guess it's just one thread, and yes stuck to the top but it can be avoided, unlike when Faucett Peru lists those new models, that is when everything gets pushed down because of four to five entries in the section Yup, thanks to A.net "elitist" and their fancy cameras, their photos can make other spotter photos seem inferior

I think we should have an entire spotting sub-section - my IAD threads are always run over by some thread that gets one reply, and I know everyone's YYZ threads are too. Sometimes I like to go back and look through peoples spotting pictures, but it's almost impossible when there are billions of threads like "Bankrupt airlines 2012" or "Potential Cathay A380 order!!" (No offense to anyone who started the threads ).
