I noticed this today on the Airlinersonline news:
"TransBrasil (Sao Paulo) after struggling financially, ceased all operations on Monday (December 3) adding the final chapter of a very colorful airline's history. The company folded with debts of around $400 million." TransBrasil was the topic of a fine book by Mike Machat and REG Davies. This was one in a series of books that also covered: Pan Am, Aeroflot, and TWA (as well as Delta, Saudi and Lufthansa). It looks like the fates are gunning for REG Davies subject matter. Those last three seem somewhat safe, except that Lufthansa is in double-jeopardy by being written about in this series as well as being a big Airbii operator (referencing the Travelin' Mans oft-quoted "Airbus Conspiracy Theory") |
